Su Ting and the dry season.

It was a dry season in Malaysia, Selangor state has been experiencing water rationing for 2 months and all the grass is getting dry and yellow color can be seen. Took this opportunity to shoot the dry season with Su Ting, a key singer in Princess and the Frog. She has been doing a number of outing with me since years ago. Took their group singing photos for their advertisement in magazine. This we meet again at this dry field. Plan the shot early and I just love long dress.

At 3pm the temperature was very high, therefore I decided to use a reflector with my 50mm f1.4 lens to shoot on the first outfit. Natural lighting allow me create some dramatic shadows and the rim light on her head when I do the shoot.

While for the second scene, I used 2 flash guns. 1 cover with orange gel and the other one is bounce to the umbrella octabox.

Her Photo, my Studio - Je's Studio

A kick start for my home studio. Yori Ang, a talented model and make up artist make her effort come all the way for a studio shoot. Siewkay, my photography pal came back from KL with all her equipments carried from floor to floor, traveling few hours just to make it for the shot. Too bad the photo session was too short for me. The end results still depends on the quality work that we can produce. I only manage to join the last session which is the bridal editorial theme. 24-105mm is the only lens I use for this shooting session. Studio lighting was shared by siewkay due to her equipment can share with both Nikon and Canon cameras. I just can't wait for more to come. Yori Ang changes several make up concepts for the shoot, her make up is awesome. She can just change her make up anytime between minutes and tang tang... she is ready for another scene. J-spy Soo

A wonderful wonder girl, J-spy. I am lucky enough to meet Jspy in Penang. She is so beautiful and she is so talented. Not only can become a model also a great photographer. Meet up together with Cambridge and Peggy. This portrait session inspire me a lot on basic photography. All of them were venture into film photography and some analog camera are fully manual. They do not need a battery to operate the camera. If you can master a fully manual analog camera, there will be no barrier for a photographer to pictures anywhere any time. There is no boundary limit for super cool temperature environment such as Antarctica or Har Er Pin. From the shooting session, I was inspired by their observation of lights. With using natural lighting we have to observe the light source at always to make sure that the subject is perfectly light up for the shoot. Applying on what I learn from Michael Greenberg's workshop, light up the subject and make it to be more 3D. Throughout the shooting only 50mm f1.4 ISO 800.

Melaka Church Wedding - Benedict Chin and Jolene

One of the most tiring wedding photo shoot trip. Reached Malacca at 1.00am and start shooting as early as 6.00am. I really enjoy shooting church wedding. Hope you all like it.
